September has been a month filled with so much to celebrate! From our growing 5K events here at home to an incredible mission trip in Marichorr, we have seen the Lord’s faithfulness in providing people, resources, and opportunities to advance the Gospel and serve communities in East Africa.
We are continually reminded that people are the heart of this ministry, and we are so grateful for everyone who chooses to come alongside us in this mission.
🏃♀️ Our 5Ks Are Here!
Our Lexington 5K is this Saturday, October 3, and we are already so excited to gather with the Lexington community for a morning of fellowship, fun, and impact. Then, on October 31, we will be back in Trussville for our 5th Annual Trussville 5K!
We are incredibly grateful for every sponsor, runner, volunteer, and community member who makes these events possible. Our events are one of the greatest vehicles God has given us to raise funds and awareness for the work happening in East Africa. This summer we saw the fruit of these events as nearly 1,600 people gave their life to Christ!
The Lord has been so faithful in providing sponsors and participants who are willing to use what they have to make an eternal impact. Every registration, sponsorship, and act of support helps us continue loving people and sharing the hope of Christ. Thank you for believing in the mission and showing up for what God is doing.
Marichorr Mission
We had the incredible joy of welcoming our team home from their recent mission trip to Marichorr, Kenya, and we are still celebrating all that the Lord did through this trip. 750 people gave their lives to Christ, and 1,496 people received medical care. Pastor Jacob has also begun leading his church, discipleship groups are meeting and growing, and a new generation of believers is beginning to thrive.
The impact of the trip is continuing well beyond our team’s time in Marichorr. More than six discipleship groups are now using Audio Bibles to hear and share the true Gospel within their communities. As these groups gather, believers are growing in their understanding of Scripture, encouraging one another, and learning to disciple others. What happened in Marichorr did not end when our team came home, the church is continuing, discipleship is continuing, and lives are continuing to change.
We know our team returned home forever changed, carrying stories and testimonies that will continue to impact their families, churches, workplaces, and communities. We are so thankful for the opportunity to witness what God is doing in Marichorr and to see His faithfulness unfold before our eyes. As we celebrate what the Lord has done, please continue to pray over Marichorr and the people who have found new life in Christ. Pray for Pastor Jacob, the discipleship groups, the new believers, and the continued growth of the local church. We pray that the Lord would continue to bless, protect, and strengthen this growing church and that the Gospel would continue to spread throughout Marichorr for generations to come!
F4H East Africa
While our team was serving in Marichorr, members of our Stateside team and East Africa team gathered together for leadership meetings. As a result, our teams are moving forward in greater unity, clarity, and joy as we look toward what God has next. We are so thankful for the relationship God has blessed is with between our teams!
Additionally, our East Africa team has also been busy preparing for the year ahead! They have been prayerfully identifying, evaluating, and approving villages for future ministry. Eight villages have currently been approved, and we are excited about the opportunities ahead to see the local church established, believers discipled, pastors equipped, and communities reached with the Gospel.
As we look toward the future, we ask you to join us in prayer. Pray over each of these eight villages, for the pastors and leaders who will serve them, open hearts, healthy churches, and opportunities for the Gospel to take root and multiply! Most importantly, pray for the movement of the Church across East Africa. We believe God is already preparing the way!
Together, we are enabling change and spreading hope—and we are trusting God for an eternal impact in East Africa.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” — Matthew 28:19
