May has been a busy month and we are excited to share all that God is doing through our team, mission opportunities, and building projects.
Two key members have been added to our East Africa Team. We are pleased to introduce to you, Dorcas Chepkopus and Reverend Abel Opunga.
Mrs. Chepkopus joins our team as the Program Support Assistant in our East Africa Office, where she will be instrumental in program administration and the overall execution of our program objectives. As a born-again believer, Mrs. Chepkopus brings to our team a passion for advancing the Gospel and will use her experience and education in leadership, governance, health training and monitoring, sanitation, community behavior, and financial inclusion, to do so. As a wife and mother of two, her passion is found in child protection and the training of community support and structures for child welfare.
Reverend Abel Opunga has joined Foundations for Hope as the Principal of the Jesus Harvesters Agape Bible College, whose construction is set to be completed by the end of this year. Reverend Abel Opunga came to know and follow the Lord as a high school student, after which he traveled to the United States and completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Christian Ministry, at Lee University in Tennessee. Since returning to Kenya, Reverend Opunga has obtained his second Bachelor’s Degree in Education Arts, and a Graduate Degree in Theological Studies. A husband and father of three, Reverend Opunga brings years of experience leading in the classroom, as a teacher, through administration as a principal, and in ministry as an associate pastor. Reverend Opunga has stated that,
“My great passion is to see men and women of God equipped with understanding, character, conviction, and skill, for the remarkable privilege of participating in God’s great mission of bringing men and women from every nation into the Kingdom.”
We could not agree more, and we look forward to all of our newest team members contributing to the work God has given us to do for His Kingdom.

2024 College Mission Trip
The 2024 College Mission Trip was a huge success, and we want to thank every leader and volunteer who participated in this special trip. This years group flew to Kenya, to serve alongside local students and Agape Fellowship volunteers. The team built two homes for those in need, worked to repair existing homes, participated in evangelism through crusades and prayer walks, and showed Jesus’s love to all they served. During their time in Kenya, the team visited the site of the new bible college and two villages where Foundations for Hope is currently working. One of the college missionaries shared with us,
“We were able to travel between two villages on our trip, one village Foundations had just entered and was beginning to start a well and a church, and another they had completed a few months back. Seeing the restoration that was brought to the completed village showed me a glimpse into the lives that were going to be changed in every village Foundations partners with Agape Fellowship Center to serve. Seeing firsthand the fruit that comes from the obedience of living out a “Yes” to the Lord, is something I will never forget.” -Marit Wessel
Our prayer for this trip was “Father, Your will be done and through that obedience, Your love and Truth will be shared in all we do”. We believe He has faithfully answered this prayer, not only in the lives of those served, but in each student, and leader who said “Yes”.
