Many of us have recently celebrated students, and this month students are a big part of what is going on at Foundations for Hope. This week, our team is traveling to Kenya, with 24 college students and leaders! This special group has been called to serve by sharing the love and truth of Jesus, with more than 1,200 students in Ivona and Bukulunya Primary Schools. While there, the team will spend their time leading small groups, sharing God’s truth, and teaching about what it looks like in the daily life of a young believer. Our group will also have a chance to serve at the Madegwa Special School, and the surrounding communities, through evangelism and community service projects.
The team will be led by Jeff Gardner who shared that this trip would allow these students to, “Partner with Foundations for Hope to do their part in fulfilling the Great Commission, through training secondary school students in the basics of our faith, displaying the love of Jesus through acts of service, and sharing the Good News with those who have not heard it yet”.
We believe God will move in a great way through these students and leaders, and The Kingdom will be impacted, as they answer the call to go! Please join us in praying for these students from May 28th through June 8th. If you do not already follow us on social media, you can follow along with the students’ trip via our Instagram and Facebook!
This month, our National Director in Kenya, will begin village assessments, to study a variety of factors that affect the lives of those we serve. This work seeks to determine their greatest needs and help to empower the local church in those areas. Our goal is to visit and interview 6000 households within our focus area. To accomplish this, local college students will be interning and joining in the effort.
We are thankful for the way this generation is answering the call to serve. 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity, show yourselves an example of those who believe”.
These students are using their time and talents to set an example for us all. As we pray for them, we are hopeful for their bright futures and all the work being done this month at Foundations for Hope!
Blessings,
The F4H Team
